For making a concentrated solution for irrigation + foliar applications:
Max concentration-1 ounce of SP-85 per 5.5 gallons of water
Optimum concentration-1 ounce SP-85 per 55 gallons of water
Minimum concentration-1 ounce SP-85 per 110 gallons of water
SP-85 Soil Applications:
1 to 6.5 gallons per acre of humate concentrate. Apply prior to germination and follow up with soil applications every 4 to 6 weeks during the growing season.
Irrigation Applications: Apply 1 to 6.5 gallons of Humate Concentrate per acre per application. Applications may be made every 4 to 6 weeks during the growing season. The optimal concentration is 1 ounce of concentrate per 10 gallons of irrigation water.
Foliar Applications: If used with foliar solutions, apply 16 to 32 ounces of Humate Concentrate per acre. The spray concentration should range between 1 ounce of concentrate per gallon of water and 1 ounce of concentrate per 20 gallons, as needed. If used in conjunction with anything else in the mix, always use 1 ounce of concentrate per 10 gallons of water, regardless of the total spray volume used or the total amount of concentrate that will be delivered per acre.
Compost Teas: Pre-Activation-if you are preactivating the compost tea ingredients, use 2.5 ounce of concentrate blended into the amount of ingredients you use per 25 gallons of tea brew. During brewing, at the beginning of the brew cycle, add 12 ounces of concentrate per 25 gallons of tea solution.
These humates are about 85% water soluble so if you plan on mixing and spraying them you'll want to filter the mixture with a filter. You can compost the small amount of residue to fortify your compost.
The SP-85 Humate Concentrate contains vital elements for healthy soil in an easy to apply liquid form. Extracted from the richest deposits of ancient lake beds, this material is essentially peat moss that has decomposed for at least one million years.
It provides a wealth of valuable plant elements. Humate treatment increases water saturation of soil. It is particularly important for sandy soils. It's water saturation ability increases by more than ten times after humate treatment. The same principal applies when preparations are used for melioration.
Humates feed the living organisms in the soil, and release locked-up nutrients for plant growth. Humic Acid also carries with it hormones and vitamins which promote germination as well as greater plant growth. Humic Acid is a virtual storehouse of not only micro-nutrients, but also, holds the essential macro-nutrients nitrogen, phosphate, and potassium. The most important and biochemically active group of the many decomposed products of soil organic matter, is the alkali soluble substance called humic acid.
Humate is defined as the salts of Humic Acids. It must also go through many chemical changes prior to entering the plant system.
Humates will enhance the overall performance of the fertilizers to a point that an actual reduction of basic N-P-K per 1,000 square feet may be appropriate over time; enhance the development of root systems ; enhance success of seed germination and overall plant development; enhance overall plant health, resistance to stress, and appearance.
Whenever possible, Humate Concentrate should be applied in several small doses rather than one large dose. Humate Concentrate may be applied directly to the soil or used with foliar fertilizers.
